The future of blogging. In September the blog will be 11 years old. I took advantage of the summer to give it a little facelift and a big clean. I invite you to discover its new version. 11 years is a very long time and at the rate of one article per week that makes a certain number of posts to dust off and delete.
As I am curious and always eager to learn, I have continued to improve myself in recent years by trying to offer you articles that may interest you.
Blogging is dead!
We've been hearing this little song for a few years now. Ever since Instagram and Tiktok came into their own and allowed everyone to express themselves through photos or mini videos.
Non, blogging is not dead and I want proof of this in the number of views on quality blogs.
Social networks certainly attract a lot of people. It is very easy to scroll and go from one photo to another like a butterfly on a flower in summer.
Of course, reading a blog post requires an effort (well, a very relative effort!). But we increasingly live in a society of urgency. We want everything, right away, very quickly. Quick and easy to the detriment of quality and reflection.
And, it is the same for our consumption of networks. Quickly we look at a photo, a mini video, a story we launch a “I like”, if we take the time we put a comment. Generally very banal like “you are lovely” or “I love your outfit” , not enough to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, you will agree!
But for those who take the time to read a well-researched and documented blog post, the comments are much more constructive and interesting.
I don't think blogging is dead and I remain convinced that he still has very good days ahead of him.
Social media posts are ephemeral
A network like Instagram or Facebook can disappear overnight. No one owns their account. An account can be hacked and you lose all your content in a matter of seconds.
A blog is yours, and you can do whatever you want on it, without worrying about the algorithm or other joys imposed by the network.
Submission on Instagram
I remain astounded by the submission of certain Instagrammers who bend to the platform's wishes for fear of losing views.
Recently Instagram decided to only highlight short videos.
What made it successful, the pretty photos, the distant and magnificent landscapes is obsolete and now, to counter Tik Tok which is a platform for backward pre-adolescents, Instagram advocates mini videos.
So everyone submits to the king of the algorithm and we see videos flourish that are more or less successful and without any interest. And above all, they are frighteningly banal because everyone produces the same thing at the same time.
Where is the freedom of creation?
While it was nice to see pretty photos while surfing the network, today I find no interest in seeing people wiggling in front of a lens simply to please the algorithm and monitor their number of views!
Le blogging a fashion senior
I took advantage of the summer and the mild evenings under the stars to think about the future of the blog.
A reflection during an evening with friends also gave me food for thought.
A young woman I didn't know asked me about my work and said to me, very surprised, I quote:
“At your age, do you have a blog and are you on social media? “
It seemed extravagant to him!
This apostrophe, however innocuous and ridiculous it may have been, gave me food for thought.
Should we leave the table at some point?
Should we hold on and defend our territory at all costs?
Is there a time when we border on the ridiculous in wanting to be and appear?
I don't have an answer yet and I continue my reflection. But a little distant music whispers to me that one day soon it will be necessary “leave the table”.
The year ahead on the blog
I have kept this back-to-school habit, for me the year begins in September with fresh notebooks, new diaries, colored pens, projects, desires.
Projects for the blog
I am teeming with ideas for articles to present to you. Because even if you comment less and less, my statistics are soaring and more and more of you are reading me and subscribing to my newsletter. I have established a schedule of articles at the rate of one per week until December!
As for fashion, some of it may be redundant because it's hard to be original throughout the seasons. But I'll do my best to find new angles to explore.
Website creation
I have created many sites, especially for bloggers and health practitioners, for 6 years. Today I have taken it easy and I tackle a site from time to time. It is mainly on recommendations and by affinities.
I recently participated in the complete redesign of the website of Stephanie Laures who is happily embarking on a new activity: Numerology. Don't hesitate to visit his site and consult it for a unique experience to know yourself better through Numerology.
The YouTube channel
Pour the chain It's a little more delicate. Because if I have an easy time picking up the pen, putting myself in the scene on video is more difficult.
And this requires more preparation!!! Makeup, hair so as not to appear too shabby!
It's also a longer work and investment. I actually quit in July. My videos are starting up again this week. And I hope to be able to keep up the pace of one per week.
The online store
The Captain Tortue brand offered me the opportunity to become one of their digital advisors by offering me the opportunity to open an online store in my name.
I simply have to present the collections to you over the months. Which I used to do regularly. I give you all the explanations on the page
My shop or on the article The Team Captain Tortue
My book
A project that has been dormant for two years. A few pages written and then destroyed. Imposter syndrome, fear of being mocked, lack of confidence.
In short, all those procrastinations about not getting started melted away this summer and I happily got down to it.
I finally understood that at my age the opinions of others should no longer affect me!
The project is well advanced and I am working on it with enthusiasm. I think it will see the light of day in a few months. But now, it is an obstacle course because publishing a book requires daily work and great perseverance! But it is exciting once the fear of the blank page has passed.
I have been nourished by many experiences in recent years that will contribute to giving material to the writing. I will tell you more in a few weeks.

What about the future of the blog?
So, leave? Stay? Give up? Give up? For the moment it is not on the agenda.
Even if some days the physical does not follow, the desire is always there and my enthusiasm always at its zenith. At least for the blog and my YouTube channel.
As for the rest of the networks, it is very likely that I will leave soon because they do not bring me any joy or pleasure. Apart from the commercial side which allows me to have certain lucrative contracts. But I no longer want to sacrifice my freedom to please brands or communication agencies.
And you? How do you consume the content offered? Do you enjoy reading blogs or do you prefer surfing the networks? Your opinion is valuable to me.
