I'm itching to decorate, just like I'm itching to travel elsewhere! But I have to be reasonable….
Why a large dressing room?
For years, I have been hoarding clothes, various and varied, including bags and shoes. With one obvious observation in recent weeks: I only wear a quarter of the things in my wardrobe. So drastic sorting.
Following this sorting and this observation, I realized that I no longer had any use for my dressing room.
I had used a guest room as a dressing room by decorating it with cupboards on all the walls.
I was proud of my collection of clothes that I looked at, but didn't wear! And what about the shoes that took up a lot of space.
Change of scenery and dressing room
So change of scenery and goodbye to overly imposing cupboards to make way for a real room which will be an extra bedroom for the children and friends. And I dare to hope for the grandchildren to come.
We will start the work next month, dismantling the cupboards, cleaning and painting the walls. And the part the more fun in the story, the decoration of the room.
I have already made a small selection on Pinterest to inspire me and I can clearly see the look I want to give to this room.
I like the idea of this soft green that will harmonize well with a bohemian decoration and that will suit a child's room! You understood I really want to pamper!
Color harmonization
As with all my decorating ideas, I make a Moodboard, or an inspiration board if you prefer.
This allows you to see the harmonization of colors and to have an overview of your color range and the look of your future room. For this, Pinterest and Canva are my best friends.
Simply select photos or furniture that inspire you, upload them to the Canva software and you have a perspective of your color palette.
If you want to try you can download a blank frame by clicking on the image below.
I want this room in pastel tones, with a touch of originality that I will give with a strip of vintage wallpaper.
I don't like wallpaper on all walls, but the idea of one wall or half a wall decorated with paper could be interesting.
I found on Pixersa view of Venice that immediately inspired me, for a small piece of wall in the room, stuck between a cupboard and the window. And this will allow my guests to escape to Italy before falling asleep.
My le wallpaper Venetian
Since the room is small, I don't want to overload it and I will opt for a sofa bed. A soft carpet, some accessories will complete the set.
For curtains, if a room is small, it is better to opt for a light veil which will not overload the decor.
To give myself courage, I wander around the decoration shops in search of the little rug, the little lamp and the little detail that will go well.

I still have to roll up my sleeves to take down the cupboards. (well I keep a big one all the same for my small things) and attack the painting.
And I spend my nights on Pinterest where I created a special table. If you want to see it, just click ici.
When I told you that my approach to personal development had changed me! Minimalism is following me!
More in pictures in a few weeks….
