This post, my favorites of May, complements the associated video. Each month, I invite you to discover various products with me. I talk about my discoveries concerning skin care, cosmetics, and food supplements. But I also tell you about my literary and television favorites. It is an eclectic and varied column that I hope you will like.
My May favorites on video
Skincare favorites with my favorite brand Ligne D
When a brand suits me, I stay loyal to it. This is the case with Ligne D. A brand that I often talk to you about in this space.
I have the opportunity to test products that are sent to me from time to time. But I also buy a lot of them because they are perfect for my mature skin.
ALICE serum
A captivating and magical serum with prickly pear. Another serum you might say? Yes, but this one treats the 7 layers of facial skin. Often treatments target the first layer of skin and have little effect. This serum is particularly powerful.
I use it morning and evening under my day cream or night cream. My particularly reactive skin at the moment thanks me!
Its active ingredients
- Prickly pear oil
- Shea Butter
- Hyaluronic Acid
- Collagen
- Vitamins E
- Vitamine A
- Peptide
PALOMA hand cream
I am particularly excited about this cream and I will not change it anymore. I use it and abuse it and I am on my 3rd tube since its discovery.
Besides its soft and non-greasy appearance, this cream is magic for blemishes.
As we age, it is our hands that betray us. The stains can have several origins.
For me, they are spots due to too much exposure to the sun, freckles, but also age spots. And yes, each year that passes adds a few spots to my hands!
Since I started using PALOMA cream morning and evening, I have seen my spots fade and especially lose their brown color. They are very pale and blend in with my freckles.
I am really excited about this treatment which also allows me to pick up a book or a work immediately after applying it because the cream penetrates instantly and is not greasy.
The brand's recommendations with which I totally agree.
- Protects and rejuvenates
- Tones and plumps the skin of the hand by depigmenting it.
- Reveloutes, softens and tones the skin of the hands
- Protects hands from cold and heat.
- Octocrylene free
CLAIRE makeup remover
This product is quite revolutionary, thanks to its ingredients it can also be used as a night cream.
For my part, and out of habit, I still use a night cream after applying it.
Claire is a multifunctional product that removes makeup, rehydrates and protects the skin from the harmful effects of pollution in a single step.
Right now my skin is very fragile and I have abandoned all my evening routines in favor of simpler care. I only use Claire makeup remover which suits me very well because it is designed to prevent itching.
My skin is no longer red and remains very clean after my evening toilet.
Its properties
- Urea (so that the active ingredients can be better absorbed and therefore have better results),
- Damask Rose (floral water + essential oil),
- Hyaluronic Acid (plant-based, from wheat).

Le MASCARA WORTH THE HYPE
Dreaming of false eyelashes? Forget it and adopt this deep black mascara.
Just one application will lengthen your lashes and two applications will give you doe eyes!
Its advantages are undeniable and its low price allows you to treat yourself without jeopardizing your bank account.
Favorite food supplements Natural boosters:
I, who was resistant to food supplements, cannot stop praising Collacilium capsules. I spoke to you about them at length in a previous article that you can read or reread.
I wanted to come back to these products because after 4 months of use I saw a surprising result on my hair. I had fine and limp hair and it became strong and gained density and thickness. And above all I no longer lose it! I admit to having been amazed by this action on my hair fiber.
I am continuing my treatment which also helps me find the energy I am lacking at the moment.
In addition, following my first article about these collagen capsules, several of my friends have tried them and all are enthusiastic about their effects. Which confirms my opinion and makes me very happy. It is always interesting to have your feedback on products that I recommend to you.
The composition of Collacilium capsules
- 5 amino acids: Glycine, glutamic acid, alanine, arginine, proline.
- And vitamin C extracted from acerola

Favorite Books of the Month
The mark of father Emelie SCHEPP
As a fan of Swedish thrillers, I let myself be tempted by this author that I didn't know. I really liked this thriller full of twists and turns.
Some reviews suggested that it was in the same vein as Millenium. I don't agree, even if the book is interesting it has nothing to do with the Millenium series which is unrivaled in my opinion. But it is a well-crafted detective novel and enjoyable to read.
4th cover
Early in the evening, Sam Witell goes out for a quick errand. When he returns home, he has lost everything: his wife, Felicia, has been murdered; his six-year-old son, Jonathan, has disappeared. The work of a pedophile? A personal vendetta? Under the leadership of prosecutor Jana Berzelius, police officers Henrik Levin and Mia Bolander investigate.
While their suspicions fall first on the father, the latter has a solid alibi. However, many gray areas remain around this family. Why was Felicia depressed? Why does Sam not seem willing to collaborate with the police? Jana Berzelius must unravel this case with complex ramifications while her past threatens to resurface…
The Ladies of Marlow by Robert Thorogood
As for this book, I am more doubtful. I wanted to delve into the twists and turns of Cozy Mysteries that I did not know.
What exactly are Cosy Mysteries?
Cozy mysteries are mysteries that evoke something cozy when read. You feel good in them, it's a relaxing read. Unlike other rather violent detective novels, these ones don't try to go too far towards realism. No bloodbaths, detailed descriptions of crime scenes or violence. No trace of sex or drugs either. Corpses yes, but served in a tea room or almost!
With cozy mysteries we are really at the opposite end of the spectrum from spine-chilling thrillers.
What I thought of this book
It left me doubtful because I had read a review and I quote: “ It's funny, it's exquisite, it's English!
When Miss Marple meets Captain Marleau: the phenomenal series you won't be able to live without.”
As a great admirer of Agatha Christie and knowing all of her work like the back of my hand, I thought I would find in this book the universe of one of my favorite authors. And I admit to having been very disappointed.
Not only did I not find the writing, the atmosphere and the talent of Agatha Christie but I was bored and the plot did not fascinate me.
An experience of cozy mysteries that I might get from another author but not at all from this series of detective novels.
I think my expectations were too high, hoping to find the magical universe of Agatha Christie's work.
Two must-see series
The diplomat
Kate Wyler is appointed U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom after a British Navy ship is attacked in the Persian Gulf. Unbeknownst to her, she is being tipped to become Vice President of the United States, a test where she must defuse international crises, forge strategic alliances, and adjust to her new place in the spotlight, all while trying to survive her marriage to Hal, a career diplomat and former ambassador.
The series sticks to current events with frequent references to Brexit, the war in Ukraine and the American evacuation from Afghanistan.
Queen Charlotte
A spin-off of The Bridgerton Chronicle, it is a prequel focusing on the youth and rise to power of Queen Charlotte.1.
Promised to the King of England against her will, Charlotte arrives in London and discovers that the royal family is not what she imagined. With time, the young girl finds her marks within the palace, between etiquette and her unpredictable husband.
I loved the evolution of this woman who over the years loved her husband and supported and helped him during his reign. And Charlotte became one of the most essential monarchs in Europe.
I hope my May favorites will inspire you! If you have any books or movies to recommend, please let us know in the comments.
I wish you a great month of May.
