Every season, a little before NoëlI suggest a table decoration to inspire you. This year I broke the rule because I lacked time and inspiration.
Also, I didn't want to invest in table decorations because my cupboards are overflowing!
For Christmas Eve, I decided to improvise and use my dishes without any specific idea.
So on the morning of the 24th, I set to work on my table without really having a plan. I was looking in my garage for some containers to put some balls in when I came across an old wrought iron candle holder, which was gathering dust on a shelf!
And I found inspiration!
The candle holder has become the main element of my decoration. To turn it into a centrepiece I surrounded it with branches and leaves, then I arranged a string of lights in Leeds.
To hide the foot, I simply placed a few pine cones on the base. I hung small gift packages of my own composition on its branches.
Once the dishes were arranged on wooden underplates, I took out my silverware (which stays in its box for the rest of the year!), some pretty glasses and my table was dressed in its festive attire.
To give a brighter touch to the room, I also refined a small decoration that I placed on the sideboard facing the table.
Ultimately I'm quite happy with this decoration that I improvised on the spot, just by rummaging around in my garage.
I admit that my Christmas decoration boxes are quite substantial and that I have no shortage of material. A little imagination, some recycling and I finally gave a festive side to my Christmas table. I hope it will inspire you for your future feasts.
My guests were delighted, Santa came by and was more than generous with my little shoe.
My children, my family, a good meal, another wonderful Christmas that went by too quickly.
I'm going to take a few days off and the blog will be in Slow mode. Life next week.
I hope you had a great holiday season. I will be very happy to see you again in January for new adventures and a surprise to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the Provinciale!
