This spring was a good time for some decorating changes at home. I started by completely redoing my kitchen, I told you about it in a previous article. But even if it meant having a mess at home, I also decided to completely change the decoration of a guest room by studio room.
Why change the decoration of a room?
We now live together at home since the children have left home and our guest room only used a few times a year. It is a fairly large room, with a separate bathroom area and which ultimately seemed like a wasted space to me.
But I need space to turn my youtube videos and especially to install equipment there without having to transport everything every day.
So I decided to transform this room into Room/studio with a refined layout that will allow friends passing by to feel good while being useful for me on a daily basis.
I wanted to give it a little vintage glasshouse feel, like a winter garden. But very minimalist because the attic room is quite large and I need space. So not too many frills!
The amenities provided in the studio room
This room, with its adjoining bathroom, was equipped with a 140 cm bed which took up a lot of space and large wardrobes which overloaded it considerably.

So we opted for a sofa bed with a quality mattress for everyday sleeping. I found it at Alinéa while taking advantage of a promotion in March.
As for the cabinets, I took them apart and put them in my dressing room. You can see the change in the video on the rearrangement of my dressing room.
This was the hardest part to set up! Because I had a hard time taking the cabinets apart and putting them back together!
Studio room decoration
Obviously my favorite part! I had an old dresser that I had already restored but to give it a more bohemian look I simply changed the handles that had aged badly. I chose suitcase strap style handles that were a bit vintage.
This room is very bright and bathed in light. Instead of furniture I wanted to put there plants. I am more and more attracted to green plants, especially when I see those of my daughter who is passionate!
She also gives me excellent advice for their maintenance. If you like plants, I advise you to follow her on her Instagram account At Green Bobine. You will discover wonders there. In her house she created a wall of plants and it is superb.

But who says pretty plants says pretty containers.
I really wanted to arrange the plants harmoniously in pretty pots.
I naturally went to the site Fashionable house which offers very pretty interior decoration items at attractive prices. I know this site well, having already chosen the bedside tables for my master bedroom there.

I set my sights on some Dutch Bone brand iron brackets. I found them chic and elegant, perfectly suited to a bohemian/glasshouse decoration style.
They are made of iron and decorated with hammered patterns in gold. The feet are coated with gold powder. They come in several sizes and I chose to take two of different sizes to give more relief and character to the decoration.
I received both planters in a few days and they have found a special place in my room. My plants are particularly highlighted in this type of container.
Details on the walls: frames from Desenio
Who says renovation of a room says frames on the walls. As for the decoration of my office I trusted the site Design for their particularly attractive posters.
For a bohemian decoration and a slightly rustic style, I chose natural wood frames and pastel and soft colored images in green and beige tones that harmonize perfectly with the rest of the decoration of the room.
I deliberately removed the lampshades to keep a glasshouse style with a large yellow bulb.
The Desenio website offers several frame variations, in silver or gold aluminum and in wood, white, oak and natural.
Several sizes are available. As the room is attic and the walls are high I chose the maximum size for the frames 100 X150 cm.
Why my choice at Design ?
First of all because I was delighted with my first order to embellish my office.

Then for the quality of the posters which stand the test of time, for the visual rendering of the photos, for the impressive choice they offer.
I also really enjoy using the tool Frame wall which allows you to have a global vision of the rendering of the frames.
But also for their commitment to the environment as Desenio is an FSC® certified company, which implies that the trees used in the production of posters are harvested responsibly providing environmental, social and economic benefits for all.
And, not insignificantly, for their attractive prices which allow you to regularly change your decoration without any pain for your budget.
The little extras that make the difference
As I completely changed the look of my room, I also wanted to get rid of the old trinkets that no longer had a place in this environment.
I like to change objects in the house and I have recovered vases and lights from another room to integrate them on my dresser.
Apart from the carpet and the lamp, which I fell in love with, all the decorative objects were scattered around the house.
I had kept a string of lights from my Christmas decorations which found its place in an old glass container from a candle holder.
I really like the minimalist renovation of this room. I hope that the friends who come to the house will feel as good there as I do! And from now on it will be the setting for my YouTube videos. A clean, soft, simple and bright setting.
